Paul Sommers

Originally a founder member of Tiger Aspect Productions, Paul has worked in factual programming for over 30 years, clocking up more than 300 hours of TV for all the UK’s major broadcasters. He has made history, science, music and arts series, but his heart lies in making witty and entertaining ob doc series. He has won two BAFTAs, for Best Documentary Series (Howard Goodall’s Big Bangs, Channel 4) and Most Original Programme (the Alison Jackson BBC2 series Double Take), as well as RTS, Rose d’Or and Peabody awards.

He has worked with a huge range of on screen talent including Victoria Wood, Alan Titchmarsh, Paul Merton, Clive Anderson, Boris Johnson, Rowan Atkinson, James Nesbitt, Nina Conti, Robbie Coltraine, John Prescott, John Sergeant and Stephen Tompkinson. Other notable credits include Island Parish (BBC2), Paul Merton in China (Channel 5) and Victoria’s Empire with Victoria Wood (BBC1).
